Coal Yard Road TO North Fork River Road
The survey regarding potential transportation safety improvements along Route 19/Alternate Route 58 (Porterfield Hwy.) in Washington County between Coal Yard Rd. and N. Fork River Rd. is complete.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the safety issues identified along a section of US 19/US 58 Alt in Washington County attributed to the existing roadway geometric conditions (e.g., non-standard shoulder widths, grade, horizontal alignments, super-elevations, etc). High vehicle speeds and existing geometric conditions are attributing to a higher number of crashes located along this section of roadway. The objective of this study is to identify cost-effective preferred improvement alternatives that will help reduce the number of crashes and improve safety along the corridor.
