Project Purpose
The focus of this study is to assess the crash history at the unsignalized intersection of Route 522 & Route 127 and identify ways to improve safety. This intersection is ranked #44 on the district Potential for Safety Improvement list, with the majority of crashes occurring on the southbound side of Route 522 where sight distance looking north is limited by the roadway geometry. Solutions identified should be respective of the need to preserve capacity for through travel on Route 522.
