Project Purpose
The purpose of this study is to identify project recommendations for the Peppers Ferry Road (Route 114) corridor within Montgomery County. This study will focus on improving roadway safety. The project recommendations from this study may be developed into funding applications for SMART SCALE Round 6 and other transportation funding programs.

Peppers Ferry Road at Onyx Drive
- A 100-foot left-turn lane is proposed along westbound Peppers Ferry Road at Onyx Drive to provide a place for left-turning vehicles to wait to find a gap in opposing traffic and improve safety by reducing the potential for rear-end crashes.

Pedestrian Improvements
Peppers Ferry Road from Belview Drive to Coal Hollow Road - Pedestrian Improvements
- A sidewalk is proposed along Peppers Ferry Road from Belview Drive to Coal Hollow Road.
- A pedestrian crosswalk is proposed across Peppers Ferry Road between Belview Drive and Belview Elementary School. Rectangular rapid flashing beacons that will be activated by pushbuttons are proposed along eastbound and westbound Peppers Ferry Road at the pedestrian crossing. An additional flashing warning light is proposed along the westbound Peppers Ferry Road approach to the crosswalk to provide additional warning to motorists of pedestrians crossing the street.
