The survey regarding potential transportation safety, operational and transit access improvements at the intersection of Jefferson Avenue (Route 143) and Fort Eustis Boulevard, which serves the I-64 (exit 250) interchange in Newport News, is complete.
Project Purpose
The purpose of this study will be to analyze the operational issues identified at the Route 143 (Jefferson Avenue) and Fort Eustis Boulevard intersection, with a focus on providing enhanced bicycle and transit access. The intersection serves the I-64 Exit 250 interchange and experiences congestion during rush hours. The objective of this study is to identify cost-effective improvements that address the deficient conditions and provide connectivity to cyclists and transit riders while promoting transportation demand management.
