Route 229 to U.S. Route 29 Business

 

Project Purpose

The study area includes Ira Hoffman Lane from Route 229 (Rixeyville Road) to U.S. Route 15 Business (Brandy Road). This study will evaluate the corridor and develop recommendations to address the safety and multimodal (bicycle and pedestrian) issues. There are SMART SCALE applications for the intersections at each end of the corridor.

Survey

The Phase 1 survey regarding current transportation needs on Ira Hoffman Lane from Route 229 (Rixeyville Road) to U.S. Route 15 Business (Brandy Road) was completed in June 2025. The study team will use the input obtained from the public to better focus on solutions and develop alternatives to address the identified needs.
